Daedric Mace Papercraft by Kuraudo3 Daedric Mace Papercraft by Kuraudo3
After working on it on and off for a couple of months I finally finished building my daedric mace. Hopefully it's the most complex model I ever build because it was pretty ridiculous. I'm also submitting the pep file for the mace, but you'd better REALLY want a daedric mace lol. At the end of the day, yes it was worth it. I can't wait to get it resined so I can swing it around. BWHAHA!

That's the great part, you just work on it until you get sick of it, quit, rinse, repeat and before you know it you've got a finished model!

That's the plan. I've got one coat of resin on it right now to protect it until I can get back to it. I'd like to start finishing pieces of my armor before I work on the mace any more.

Just the 1, as usual. That's why I haven't made the daedric sword yet, those hearts are hard to come by!

Geez, there's AMAZING and there's you!! I recently created a Daedric dagger out of foam board, but next to this, it's childs play XD Bout as close to in game weapon as you can get XD

Thanks very much! And you're correct about it being as close to the in game weapon as possible (that's what I love so much about pepakura), but it's the absolute LEAST artistic way to make something lol. I went and checked out your dagger and sword and I think they look awesome!

Thanks for the compliment, It only took me about 2 to 3 hours per weapon, without the paint, but that's the easiest part. I'm looking forward to when you resin and paint that awesome daedric mace.

I understand, because with my Dark Brotherhood costume, that I'm in the middle of creating, I have to put my hand into a plate of black paint and press my hand in the middle of my chest piece to get the signature black hand print that the Dark Brotherhood uses in their "We Know" letters and on the mage outfits that they have. That's got me really nervous, it looks awesome now, but the very idea of putting a paint covered hand onto something that took me days to create... ugh... so not feeling confident.

I don't know how you do it. Personnaly I constantly loose track of what's gonna be attached to what ... so at my last attempts, I just stopped before I even got started ^^

Well make sure you have edge ID on so it numbers the edges for you. And if you click on the pieces in pep viewer it will show you where it is on the model.

yeah I've printed with edges ID, but even with that it gives me a hard time ^^ When I'll have some time, maybe I'll try modify your files so that there are less pieces to assemble on each part of the armor.
And I already forgot about the flaps (which would make even more work aparently) ^^

Actually I got a question linked to edges IDs : for exemple on the daedric armor set, on the piece called "daedric left upper arm, the object 1-1 seems totally useless : it doesn't have any edge IDs so it doesn't attach to any other pieces ... but it's still there ... not sure why ...

Yeah that was a problem common among my earlier models. I think it must have had something to do with how I was editing the models before I sent them to pepakura. I guess I figured it out without realizing it because I don't think that happens any more.

I gave up last week ... but I know I'll keep on trying ^^
I got one more question : how do yoe sure the armor is at the sorrect size ? Do you make one part then according to how it fits you adjust the whole armor size ? Or maybe it just happened to be directly at your size ?

Well with the helmet I made a super simplified mock up to make sure I was in the ballpark. Then I made the fully detailed version and it turned out to be almost perfect. I did the same thing for the chest but found out that it needed to be a little larger in scale to fit. But after the chest piece I just scaled everything to match it. Well that made my helmet a little too small so I've scaled it up and just recently rebuilt it in cardstock. I'm much happier with it now and I think my second helmet will be a huge improvement over the first :)
